Since 1985, polyphonic singing enthusiasts have gathered at Promúsica with a simple and sincere philosophy:
Our choir is currently directed by Samuel Pascoe, accompanied by assistant conductor César Castro. Throughout our history, we have had the honor of working with distinguished conductors such as Enrique Bátiz, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Enrique Diemecke, Luis Herrera de la Fuente, Enrique Barrios, Louis Clark, Gabriela Díaz Alatriste, Eduardo García Barrios, Fernando Lozano, and Jonathan Griffith, among many others.
We have collaborated with some of Mexico's most important orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra, the Minería Symphony Orchestra, the Mexico City Philharmonic, OFUNAM, and the State of Mexico Philharmonic. Internationally, we have collaborated with the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra and the Distinguished Concerts International New York.
Our choir has performed in iconic venues such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Nezahualcóyotl Hall, the Ollin Yoliztli Hall, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Roberto Cantoral Cultural Center, the National Auditorium, the Conservatory of Mexico City, the Basilica of Guadalupe, and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Promúsica's choral-symphonic repertoire includes works such as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Orff's Carmina Burana, Mahler's Eighth and Third Symphonies, Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation and Mass in Time of War, and Verdi's Requiem, among many other important works.
